About CoquiPaws — Smart Picks for Happier Pets
CoquiPaws started with a simple frustration: too many pet product «reviews» online are just rewritten Amazon descriptions with affiliate links slapped on top. No real analysis. No comparison. No honest «this isn’t for you» warnings. Just hype.
We thought pet owners deserved better. So we built CoquiPaws to be the resource we wished existed when we were picking out our first cat tree, our first slow feeder, our first GPS tracker.
Who We Are
CoquiPaws is an independent editorial team based in Latin America, with roots in Venezuela and a bilingual focus on serving pet owners across the United States and LATAM. The name comes from the coquí, the tiny tree frog that sings through Caribbean nights — small, persistent, impossible to ignore. That’s the energy we bring to pet product research.
We’re dog people. We’re cat people. Some of us are both. Between our team, we’ve cared for rescues, seniors, puppies with separation anxiety, indoor-only cats with too much energy, and one very opinionated parrot (long story). That lived experience shapes every recommendation we make.

To help pet owners make smarter buying decisions through honest, research-backed product reviews — without the fluff, without the manufactured urgency, and without recommending things we wouldn’t trust around our own animals.

How We Review Products — Our Methodology
CoquiPaws is currently in its bootstrap phase, which means we’re transparent about something most affiliate sites hide: we don’t always have the budget to buy every product we review. Instead of pretending otherwise, we built a rigorous Research-Based Deep Review methodology:
- Verified customer review analysis. We read 200–500+ verified Amazon reviews per product, looking for patterns in praise, complaints, and long-term durability reports.
- Manufacturer specifications. We cross-check claims against official spec sheets, materials disclosures, and dimensions.
- Veterinary and scientific sources. When a product touches health, behavior, or nutrition, we cite peer-reviewed journals, .gov resources (FDA, AVMA), and .edu veterinary school publications.
- Comparative analysis. Every recommendation is benchmarked against at least two alternatives, so you understand the trade-offs.
- Honest «not for you» sections. We tell you who shouldn’t buy a product — not just who should.
When we have hands-on experience with a product, we say so clearly. When we don’t, we say that too. Every review carries a disclosure at the top so you know exactly what kind of analysis you’re reading.
Why You Can Trust Us
Three things keep us honest:
- We don’t accept paid placements. No brand pays for a top spot. Rankings are based on research only.
- We say when a product is bad. Affiliate sites that recommend everything are useless. We’ve passed on plenty of popular products we couldn’t honestly endorse.
- We update our content. Prices change, products get reformulated, new alternatives launch. Every article shows its last-updated date, and we revisit our top guides regularly.
How We Make Money
CoquiPaws is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. When you buy through links on our site, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That commission keeps the lights on, pays our writers, and funds the research hours behind every guide.
It does not influence which products we recommend. We’d rather lose a sale than send a reader home with the wrong harness, the wrong food bowl, or the wrong flea treatment.
